America X Reader : Traveling soldier

Two days had gone by since he turned eighteen A boy was going into the army he had blond hair and A cowlick.
He was in A army green suit waiting for the bus to come and take to war.

As he was waiting he decided to go into A little cafe and sat in a booth waiting for his order to be taken.

Soon you A waitress with A (f/c) color bow in your hair came to take his order.
you noticed he was a little shy so you gave him A smile to cheer him up.

"Hello my name is_________ what can I get for you today?", you asked sweetly

"Well miss", he started"Would you mind sitting down  for A while and  talking with me I'm feeling A little low",

"Well I am off in an hour and I know where we can go",

Waiting for you to get off you and the soldier walk down and sat on the pier.
He was still A little sad you could tell by the look in those ocean blue eye's of his.

"Miss",


"Oh just call me _________', you giggled

"Oh well _________ I bet you got a boyfriend but I don't have any one to send A letter too would you mind if I sent one back here to you?", he blushed as he said it.

Soon it was time for him to go and he went off to war to help his country",
You cried as he left and people told you that you were to young to be waiting for the love of a traveling soldier but you didn't care you loved him.

A few months past and A letter came from A army camp in Vietnam it said:

Holding the note close to your heart and thinking about how he just spilled his heart out for you.
People still told you you were silly for waiting for him and that he maybe dead already but you pushed them away you knew Alfred was still alive.

months went by and you didn't get a letter back from him but that didn't mean you should give up no you didn't.
There was A football game on Friday you sat in the bleachers as A prayer was said and the national anthem was sung.

After that A man came up and ask you all to put your heads down for A list of Vietnam dead A few names were read and then one that ment a lot to you but no one else really cared.

You cried so much when the name ALFRED F. JONES was read as one of the one that had died.
As you cried you sang in your head (IIIII cried never gonna hold the hand of another guy to late for him when they told her waiting for the love of a traveling soldier)

People were right but you still didn't care you loved him you just didn't get the chance to tell him.
Ever since that day you always would visit the grave of the traveling soldier your traveling soldier.
